Sustainability Report

In our annual Sustainability Report, we report on the way in which Indaver has fulfilled its role in the circular economy over the previous year. Sustainability is embedded in our company, not just in our activities, but also in our techniques and processes. Our Sustainability Report which is published every year, illustrates this integrated approach.

Indaver's approach to sustainability can be summarized through the three pillars of "People, Planet, and Prosperity":

  • People
  • Planet
  • Prosperity

We operate in line with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that are relevant to our industry. This Sustainability Report therefore also contains a number of references to these SDGs. Indaver is committed to social responsibility and operating with integrity, aiming for a clean and sustainable future through our actions and services.

People

Indaver recognizes that the strength of our organization lies in the collective knowledge and expertise of our employees. We encourage the development of our employees' talents and personal goals, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment. Safety is paramount in all aspects of our operations.

Planet

Indaver considers it a societal duty to contribute to the livability of the Earth through responsible waste management and processing. We aim to operate sustainably and with minimal impact on the environment. Indaver creates value from waste by producing secondary raw materials and alternative energy, while safely handling hazardous components that should not reenter the circular economy.

Prosperity

Indaver believes in the circular economy as a sustainable way to distribute prosperity and well-being among the global population. We focus on growth and innovation while maintaining operational excellence. Our strong financial foundation allows for sustainable growth, demonstrating that entrepreneurship can be aligned with sustainability.

Responding to expectations from stakeholders

At Indaver, we prioritize understanding and meeting the preferences of our customers and stakeholders when it comes to our reporting. To achieve this, we utilize two essential tools:

Materiality Matrix for Sustainability

We analyze and map out topics based on the interests of our customers and the impact on our business operations. This matrix allows us to identify and prioritize sustainability topics effectively.

Stakeholder Analysis

We conduct a thorough analysis to comprehend the interests of our readers, including internal colleagues and external stakeholders. By engaging with them through various means such as informal contacts, regular meetings, and evaluations, we ensure our reporting aligns with their expectations.

This integrated approach guarantees that our reporting not only reflects the interests of our customers but also meets the broader expectations of our stakeholders. A working group, comprising colleagues from different business lines, plays a pivotal role in determining the content and framework of our sustainability report, ensuring it offers a balanced and representative overview of our entire organization.

Reporting on Corporate Social Responsibility

The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) is an internationally recognised system for reporting on corporate social responsibility and setting out a company’s economic, social and environmental performance. Inspired by the GRI we have charted our own performance in the same way.

Sustainable Development Goals

The United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are seventeen collective goals that help countries to achieve inclusive and sustainable prosperity. Each goal has specific targets to be achieved.

The waste sector, just like all other sectors and social organisations, has a vital role to play to make these ambitious goals a reality. Indaver chose thirteen of these seventeen development goals as a guide for its contribution to a more sustainable world.
